Lake Bohinj

Vintgar Gorge

27 kilometres from Lake Bled is Bohinjska Jezero a clean glacial Lake with Alpine cabins dotted around the waters edge. In this oasis in the Alps, this unique little corner of the Triglav National Park, there is an ideal setting for all lovers of unhindered nature and sport -- mountain biking, canoeing and torchlit evening trips on the lake, Hydrospeed trips, rock climbing and mountaineering, archery and ski-touring, angling, rowing and swimming. Numerous mountain huts and cottages, friendly hotels, tennis courts and other amenities are carefully hidden so as not to upset the idyll of a curious eye. Although accessed all the way round by either road or footpath through the pine forests, the best view is from the cable car as it ascends 1538 metres to the top of Mount Vogel. From here two chair and three drag lifts access ski runs during the winter season. There are some interesting statues and wonderful walks around this area.
